 Weeks 2009 Rose Introductions

There’s an overriding theme for Weeks Roses 2009 Introductions – powerful perfume and saturated colors – some like you’ve never seen before in roses. Pick the Tops in Roses. Pick Weeks.

Cinco de Mayo™

This smoky lavender and rusty red-orange mixture of warm color will fill your garden with never-ending blooms.  With such a unique yet blendable coloration this fabulous floribunda can be used everywhere from mass plantings to mixing with perennials; this rose just isn’t for your “rose garden”.  If you’re looking to drift from traditional rose colors yet want something that will compliment a garden space then celebrate with Cinco de Mayo.

Cape Diamond™

Climbing into this year’s line up of new introductions are the pure pink petals of Cape Diamond.  This incredibly disease resistant, vigorous growing plant is equally comfortable as a spreading shrub or trained as a climber.  Old-fashioned flowers with a strong, spicy fragrance contrast against rugosa-like grey-green foliage.  Cape Diamond is as strong as her gemstone namesake, hardy without winter protection in zone 3.

Legends™

With large, shapely buds unfurling to massive ruby red blossoms Legends is sure bold statement in any garden.  You can’t miss the huge, deep red flowers on this hybrid tea.  Oprah Winfrey was involved in the multi-year evaluation and final selection of the Legends rose.  Chosen to pay tribute to the wonderful women honored during Oprah’s Legends weekend.  Clipped, these vase-filling celebrities will be the center of attention in any room.

Rock & Roll™

With flash and audacity of a rock star, Rock & Roll explodes onto the scene with swirling colors of burgundy and cream.  This star performer features big creamy buds, a powerful scent with a supporting cast of deep green foliage.  If you are looking to crank up the volume in both color and style then Rock & Roll can be playing in your garden soon.

Shockwave™

Shockwave bursts into bloom with loads of pure neon yellow flowers, holding their brilliance until the next round is ready.  Glossy apple-green leaves make a perfect backdrop for this radiant roundup of color.  Also available as a tree this glowing rose adds radiance to any garden.  With luminous soft yellow petals.

Summer Love™

Summer Love will glow in garden as the sun shines across the sky.  The large blooms on this hybrid tea have an occasional hint of pink.  Like Shockwave, Summer Love’s medium size makes her easy to tuck into a smaller space in your garden or a container on the patio.  The kelly-green leaves really make the long-lasting blooms stand out from the rest of the scenery.

Teeny Bopper™

Teeny Bopper is a scarlet and white shrublet with hydrangea-like clusters of scrumptious color.  Pointed buds explode into long-lived flowers supported by deep green foliage.

Warm & Fuzzy™

With deep Christmassy red color and sweet juniper scent Warm & Fuzzy will heat up gardens this season.  These blooms retain their color until the end and even prefer some heat to show their best color.  A mini burning with color and sweet juniper scent…what more can you ask for?
